The purpose of the Statistical and Data Technician role in Processing Operations is to help process the estimated 7 million completed census forms. This process involves ensuring that all respondent data is captured and processed to the agreed timelines and quality standards.
It is imperative that you have the ability to interpret the range of response data related to social, employment, and geographic factors in the census.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Checking and validating data in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures
- Engaging with internal stakeholders and working collaboratively to resolve data issues
- Applying definitions, concepts, and classifications to produce comparable and consistent datasets
- Identifying variables and unit records that do not pass validation, the reason for failure, and implementing the required next steps

- Willingness to actively apply knowledge of Te Reo Maori and Tikanga.
