Job Description
Test engineer QA for Digital platform project
Rockwell Automation is looking for an innovative engineer to join a new team of software developers located in Prague and Cleveland, USA. We are looking for new colleagues with experience or a strong interest in the design and implementation of software projects in Cloud targeting the area of industrial automation products. The team will follow the Scrum methodology. Everyone in team assignments includes participation in requirements development, architectural design, coding, documentation, and testing of software. In this role, you will have more responsibilities as developer engineer in test who can creating code to automated testing. In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow your career in software development by solving challenging problems using modern technologies, tools, and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Review functional requirements and design documents, incorporate understanding into comprehensive test plans and Test Cases for large-scale, distributed multi-service system infrastructure providing access to Industrial Automation data throughout framework on Windows/Linux OS environment.
- Design test strategy to cover all System components, features and Use Case scenarios; plan test development and regular execution in scheduled time and available resources.
- Develop, maintain and enhance test tools and automation testing frameworks; Create tests to simulate intended scenarios, topologies and conditions. Setup test environment, software, test scripts, networks and use them for testing.
- Perform automated and manual tests of larger systems composed from existing products/services/toolkits and for that testing purposes created Example Prototype Applications modeling adopters needs and intended ways of use, their limits and habits on a variety of platforms.
- Participate in feature and functional testing, unit testing, regression, load, and performance testing on Large test environment in planned schedule.
- Benchmark various metrics, across releases/platforms, to ensure quality and high performance.
- Work with developers and other teams to understand the impact of an individual changes and identify the testing required to effectively verify the change.
- Verify and validate the software using System/functional/stress testing techniques.
- Investigate and analyze root causes of technical issues/performance bottlenecks. Have a sense for detail.
- Work as a proficient self-organized member of an international team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Control engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 4 years overall experience with working on positions such as Developer Engineer in Test, Senior QA Engineer or Integration Engineer or similar.
- Familiarity with programming networks, services and multi-os and multi-programming language (especially services, wrappers, interfaces for various languages)
- Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies (especially CIP, IP, TCP/UDP, HTTP and HTTP proxies)
- Written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Desired Qualifications
- At least intermediate knowledge of scripting (e.g. Python, Javascript, Shell) and programming (e.g. C, C++, RUST).
- Able to work with source control systems effectively.
- Ability to use and create test automation scripts and/or automation frameworks.
- Understands Dev QA concepts including utilization of tools and test frameworks, load tests, stress tests, and performance testing, etc.
- Highly responsible, motivated, able to work with little supervision.
- Experience in creating and executing tests (especially automated tests) within a Windows/Linux environment.
- Solid testing/diagnosing/debugging skills and a desire for a deep down analysis and understanding.
